Fiber Optic CableThe fiber network, used to link dispatch consoles to the master site, successfully passed Butler County and Motorola testing this week, allowing dispatch console installations to begin.

Completion of the fiber network was one of two significant hurdles we needed to pass before agencies can join the system. The other, frequency coordination, is in progress. Even with dispatch consoles installed, we will need sufficient frequency capacity to add subscribers to the system.

We are currently supporting all Butler County Sheriff’s Office corrections and court security users with five frequencies from the county license. The other ten frequencies come from licenses held by the City of Oxford, City of Hamilton and West Chester Township.

As soon as we have a clear idea of the console installation schedule, we will notify affected agencies so they can plan for the transition. You will have plenty of notice in order to plan and train and needed. More details to follow…
