Last Tuesday, dispatch console installation was completed for the Butler County Sheriff’s Office. Dispatchers transitioned to using the new consoles during first shift.

There have been no changes in the field, however. Corrections and court security are the only two groups operating on the 800MHz system. Dispatchers are using the exisiting VHF channels to communicate with law enforcement and fire/EMS on new consoles. The center now stands ready to use the 800MHz system when agencies begin switching over at a future date.
