Yesterday, Tonda Francis from the Greater Cincinnati Health Council made a presentation to Butler County’s EMS committee about the Disaster Net.
The Disaster Net (officially the Hospital Disaster Radio Network) links hospital emergency departments in a 14-county region around Cincinnati. Its purpose is to notify them of potential mass casualty incidents and coordinate communications regarding the distribution of victims/patients in mass-casualty or hazardous materials situations in the most timely, systematic, and efficient manner possible.
Upcoming training and procedures from BRICS will detail how our first responders and communications centers will activate and share information through the Disaster Net.
