The fourteen fire and EMS departments dispatched by the Butler County Sheriff's Office will begin using the BRICS 800MHz voice system this Thursday, December 10th at 10:00am. This will complete the transition for users dispatched by BCSO.
The advisory board meeting that would normally be held this Thursday has been canceled. The November and December meetings have been combined into one.
Beginning at 0800 hours on Friday, September 25, law enforcement users dispatched by the Butler County Sheriff's Office will begin transitioning to the BRICS 800MHz voice system.
Last week, dispatch console installation was completed at the Middletown communications center. The installation was moved up to alleviate trouble with their existing console equipment.
Fire agencies in western Butler County who were originally provided 800MHz radios on the Oxford Area Radio System will have their mobiles reprogrammed next week.
This week saw the transition of all Oxford Area Radio System users to the Butler Regional Interoperable Communications System. Careful planning and coordination between BRICS staff, vendors and local officials resulted in a smooth transition for two dispatch centers, three law enforcement agencies, two fire/EMS departments, one EMS agency, one hospital ER and two public works groups.
