What does it mean when my radio says EMPTY LIST?
When a radio is placed in scan mode and no scan list has been programmed, the radio will display “EMPTY LIST” and produce a solid, low tone.
Note: Each system in your radio has a separate scan list. A scan list for talkgroups on the Butler County system is separate from a scan list for the Hamilton County system, or conventional mutual aid frequencies (i.e. 8 CALL 90). It is most common for users to encounter the Empty List error when they are scanning on the BRICS/MARCS system and navigate to a talkgroup or channel on a different system with no scan list.
How to correct: Turn scan off – OR – program a scan list for the system you have selected.
