MCC7500 radio console

console-200px1Several dispatch consoles have been installed at the Butler County Sheriff’s Office communications center.  At this time, dispatchers are continuing to use their original consoles.  Having the new consoles in place will allow us to monitor the performance of our fiber network while it is optimized.  Once they are all installed, the old consoles will be removed.  Dispatchers will begin using the new consoles to dispatch on their existing VHF frequencies while we wait to bring agencies to the new 800MHz system.

We are still awaiting the approval of licenses on our remaining frequencies.  These frequencies are needed to give us enough channel capacity to support more users.  Over the next month, we will begin to plan for console installation at other centers in Butler County.

We also expect the installation of mobile radios in fire apparatus to be completed by the beginning of June.
